Sydney Sights | An International Student Accommodation Blog

Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, so it makes for a perfect welcoming when you first arrive in Australia! I was really lucky to get the chance to stop in Sydney when I arrived and take in the sights and sounds for a week before moving on to Perth, and I loved every minute of it!

Op houseThe most obvious thing you need to see is the opera house, which is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world! I can tell you that it is even better in person than it is in the photos, so go and take a tour of the opera house as soon as you can! An excellent way to see it from the outside is to take a ferry towards Manly Beach, which will give you plenty of great angles of the opera house from the water! It’s also a great money saver, as it saves you having to pay for an expensive boat tour. Also, Manly Beach itself is a must see, so you can see two great sites this way!

I really loved seeing the museums in Sydney as well, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales was definitely my favourite! It was a great way to get some Australian culture, and see what Australian art is really all about.

The last thing I’ll mention is visiting “The Rocks” which is where Old Sydney is located. This is the most interesting place to visit because you get to see a lot of the history in Sydney and take in even more local culture, all for no cost!

What are some of your favourite places to visit in Sydney? I’ll post more in another blog later, but feel free to share yours below!
